Heath Street Choir does not hold auditions
No previous choral experience required
Repertoire
The choir alternates between secular and sacred classical music. Recent highlights include Mozart's Vesperae Solemnes de Confessore, Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni & Britten's Gloriana Dances.
Sight Reading Workshops
Some members of the choir are already competent sight readers, and the choir does rely heavily on scores. Members who are as yet unable to sight read should not be perturbed: sight reading workshops are available, and rehearsals involve significant repetition to give everyone a chance to learn the music.
Community
To ensure that people of all backgrounds are able to join the choir, term fees can be reduced based on an individual's financial circumstances, with no questions asked. Whatever your resources and experience, you will find a welcoming group of people in their 20s and above.
